S&K Professionals Counseling Services offers a range of psychological and counseling services. For example, we provide professional help in the following areas:

 

Psychological issues

 depression, anxiety, suicidality, eating disorders, substance misuse/abuse

 

Personal concerns

 identity issues, sexuality, self-esteem, assertion, family problems, stress management

​

Interpersonal issues

 communication skills, dating and relationship issues, conflict management

 

Crisis intervention services

 acute stress, sexual assault, death of a family member or friend

 

In general, we are available to discuss any important personal concern a client may be facing and work with that person to develop new ways of resolving the problem or managing the concern.

 

Clients are initially seen by an individual counselor. Continuing services, if needed, may be offered in the form of individual, couples, family, or group meetings, depending on the clients availability and what best matches the client's need. These are fees for services at the time of the visit.

 

Staff

S&K Professionals Counseling Services staff consists of both male and female license counselors, and master’s level subcontractor’s. All are trained and experienced in dealing with issues facing mulipltude of crisis situations. Doctoral candidates in clinical psychology, working under close supervision, also provide counseling services.

 

Appointments

Appointments may be made by calling S&K Professionals Counseling Services at 478-714-5360 or by coming to the office in person. Appointments will be scheduled as soon after the initial request and precertification if using insurance, and depending on the urgency of the situation and staff availability. In most cases, we can offer appointments within a week of the initial request. After an initial evaluation, a client’s continuing in counseling will be assigned to a staff member as openings become available. If appropriate, a client may be referred to other sources of help after initial evaluation.

 

Cancellations and missed appointments. Due to the high demand for services offered by S&K Professionals, missed appointments will result in a $35.00 fee if you fail to cancel the appointment within 24 hours of the visit.

 

Emergencies. In the event of an emergency, a client should call 911 for help. During regular working hours, a client can come directly to the S&K Professionals Counseling Services office at 640 Plum Street,  Suite 201,Macon ,GA 31201, or call the office at 478-714-5360. Emergency services are also available after hours and on weekends by calling 478-714-5360.

 

Confidentiality

Counseling is confidential. Because therapy is most effective when a client’s can be direct and honest with a counselor without fear that personal information will be divulged, S&K Professionals Counseling Services does not release information about a client without that person's written permission, except in the case of imminent danger to self or others, child/dependent abuse, court order, or where otherwise required by law.
